TRANSPORTATION
To all Madison Parents, The bus garage is a very busy place in the summer time. We are getting all the buses ready for the upcoming year. Due to the hard work of Mike Yost, and Bill McClain, our mechanics, we should make it through inspections with flying colors. There are no big changes to routes in any of the schools this year. The major change will be at the High Schooll. This change will concern the parking lot. For quite some time we have been looking at a safer way of dropping off and picking up students at the High School. Several people put their heads together and we believe came up with a safer solution. The parking lot is being resealed and repainted. The painting should be very clear on the direction of traffic, lanes, and parking. The first month or so of the year, the parking lot will be patroled by Mr Peterson, Mr Secrist, Mr Riggle, and Mr Conway. Just like any change, it will take awhile for people to get in the habit going the way they need to go. We will be purchasing one new 72 passenger bus this year. We hope to update our fleet by adding buses as needed. We maintain our buses very well, but there is always a point were you have done all you can. Once again this year, all buses will have assigned seats. Always remember that your student needs to be at the bus stop and ready to load the bus when the bus arrives. We once again will not be issuing bus passes unless there are particular circumstances that make it necessary. Always check with the bus garage before you assume this will be permitted. We were able to install cameras on all route buses last year and they have proved to be very helpful. If you have a problem or a situation that you would like to discuss, call the garage at (419) 589-3473. I am in my office every day from 7:30 until 4:30. I have found that two heads can figure things out better than one. I am looking forward to another Safe, and Educational school year. Respectfully,
