MADISON SOUTH ELEMENTARY

School Improvement Information:

Public School Choice - Supplemental Educational Services Information

Based upon student performance for South Elementary, South is considered to be a school that has been designated to participate in School Improvement. Under United States Department of Education regulations, the following information is required to be provided concerning the PSC/SES programs for South Elementary.

  1. The number of students who were eligible for and who participated in SES and PSC:

    Note: After school tutoring was offered.
      558 23 participated in PSC
    Note: 32 students applied, 23 actually attended three other elementary schools in the district.
    2008-2009 325 0 participated in SES
    Note: After school and in-school tutoring is being offered at Madison South.
      604 20 participated in PSC
    Note: 25 applied and 20 actually transferred to other buildings in the district.
    2009-2010 468 For the 2009-2010 school year, 32 children have or are receiving SES (tutoring) services from two approved providers.
      610 30 students are attending the district's other three elementary buildings under the PSC program.
    2010-2011 520 During the 2010-2011 school year, 28 students are participating in SES services through three providers. Club A to Z provides SES tutoring at the child's home, Sylvan Learning Center provides SES tutoring at their Ontario learning center, and Center.Ed Tutoring will provide SES tutoring after school at South Elementary.
      612 Twenty-nine (29) students are attending Eastview, and Mifflin, and Wooster Heights Elementary Schools under the PSC program.
    Note: In-school tutoring was is being provided during the 2010-11 school year and Summer 2010 tutoring was provided tuition free to all South Elementary students.
    2011-2012 564 As of 1/4, 20 students are participating in SES services offered through Sylvan Learning Center, Center.Ed Tutoring, Club Z! In-home Tutoring, and ATS Project Success. Additional service providers from the state approved list will serve eligible students upon parental request.
      743 Twenty-two (22) students are attending Eastview and Mifflin Schools from the South attendance area under the PSC program.

     

  2. SES (Supplemental Educational Service) providers that have been approved by the Ohio Department of Education for Madison Local, Richland County are listed on the following web page:

    Each vendor determines where the tutoring will take place and works with the family to schedule the most convenient time for the tutoring.

    Services are offered for students who meet the program eligibility requirements. Questions regarding this program should be directed to Gary Graham, Educational Consultant, at 419-589-2600, ext. 1107.

    Please note that the location where the services will be provided is listed under details for each group that has been approved.
     

  3. During the current school year (2011-2012) students from South have transferred to: Mifflin Elementary and Eastview Elementary.
