Madison South Community,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself; I am Chris Scholl, the new principal at Madison South. I come from the Dayton area where I have been a principal for the past six years. Before that I was an assistant principal in Middletown and also have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades in Hamilton, Ohio. I have spent the summer moving and am now happily located 10 minutes from school. I am also pleased to welcome a new assistant principal Jonathan Muro who comes from Southeast Local Schools. We also have a new school psychologist, Robin Harpster and two new intervention specialists, Ashley Mohnacky and Ashley Johnson.

I would also like to personally thank you for your support of the levy for the new 5-8 school building, this is an exciting time at Madison Local Schools and I am glad to be a part of it. Congratulations are also in order for Madison South’s students and staff on making the Effective rating on the state report card this year for the first time. There are so many great things going on at Madison South!

I have enjoyed getting to know the staff as they come in to get their rooms ready for your student’s new year. The building looks beautiful thanks to the hard work of the custodial staff over the summer. We will be having open house on August 23 for the kindergarteners from 5:30 and for first through sixth graders from 6:00-7:00 pm. Please take this opportunity to come in and meet the teachers and new principals. Kindergarten then will begin on August 30.

I will also be starting an evening coffee time where parents can come in and discuss topics that are on their minds with me and Mr. Muro the first one will be September 30, from 5-6 pm and will be every month on the last Thursday. Please feel free to drop in and meet me and Mr. Muro and share your ideas. I look forward to a great year at Madison South.
